, he did not. he realized that he could outraise and spend john mccain in 2008 and so he went back on his words there. he took corporate money into the inaugural committee. i don't care that he's flipped his campaign into a c-4 and going to do political operation toss help his agenda, but let's be honest about it. instead, he's a hypocrite and now, his left wing, you know, allies who have been very supportive of him over the last several years are now coming out to say, well, he really shouldn't do this. but, the hypocrisy is so thick, it's dripping, it's kind of entertaining. >> and citizens united whether you could spend money on elections and a candidate, right, and this -- and this group is going to take money to push an agenda, to push policies which there is a difference in that legally, but this group. >> oh, certainly. >> megyn: but this group, you refer to it as the c-4, that's not-- that's a tax exempt organization and there are already some republican lawmakers saying, all right, if you're going to take unlimited corporate donations into a tax exempt entity that exists s

'm reading it. i want to. yes. when the soviets like john mccain tells you you belch too much, soak and spew too much fire, you know you've got a problem. >> she likes it. that's a bad day. that's a bad day. >> this is not painful for her. >> like three, four days later, she's still laughing. >> when someone says something about you, that's a bad day. ted cruz, a republican freshman in the senate out front and center in his republicans' efforts to josh chuck hagel has a problem. he's an honoree piece of work, just six weeks from arrival, he's already known for nay saying and his nitpicking and his itch to upbraid lawmakers who are vastly senior to him who have sacrificed more than he has and who deserve a measure of respect. or at least courtesy that isn't his me kirks er. he was head of the harvard debate team. >> princeton or harvard. >> a very bright guy. >> a little too big for his britches. >> people that knew him before said you would like him. >> he has been kicking shins, being comparely rude and i guess maybe it's all a marketing ploy to raise the most money among conservatives nati

with the transition candidates barack obama and john mccain and the team representing president george w. bush. for more information on her publications, and proudly, she is a member of the board of directors of the white house historical association. >> we have a wonderful panel here, it represents people that have worked in the white house over several administrations in the residence staff and people that have come with particular president at first ladies. we will get a sense of the environment that a first lady operates in. it is a difficult place to be, in some ways as beautiful as the white house is, it is a museum. it is obviously a residence. it is a park. and it is a workplace. and all of those combined for the first lady, opportunities for her and for her husband, those hazards as they live their lives in the white house. it is also a place for children, a place to raise a family. with a first lady that receives no compensation for what she does, it is a difficult thing to say exactly what her role is. we will talk about the environment and particular first lady's because our paneli

saying that plan would be dead on arrival if it were presented to congress. john mccain accusing the white house of intentionally leaking that draft proposal. that's an assertion the white house has pushed back against. this is a delicate dance, martin, and this sort of ruffled feathers could give someone like marco rubio some cover to spar publicly with the president but then to continue to work on immigration reform behind the scenes and not necessarily have to own this as president obama's immigration reform proposal if, in fact, they do come up with something. i think what's significant is that after this weekend and that leaked draft proposal, no one walked away from the table. by all accounts everyone is still moving forward on immigration reform. of course, it's still an uphill battle because lawmakers are divided on some of the key issues. >> kristin, thank you. >>> coming up, herman cain was actually right about something. seriously. stay with us. so you say men are superior drivers? yeah. then how'd i get this... . it involves the republicans. when you have john mccain out there and lindsey graham saying this is absolutely -- if it goes through, it's not universal embraced by republicans in washington. and like you say, to the point it looks like it's going to go forward with the sequester. i guess is this a two-part gain by the republicans where they let the sequester go through. and three weeks later we have this continues resolution that comes up and maybe they see an opportunity there with the sequester. they can have their showdown with the president and then get rid of the cuts anyway? do you see a possibility of that? >> i think you're going to see some resolution of this after the cuts go into that for a couple days. the republicans have two schools of thoughts. one is deep concern that that has. part the majority of is reflected by the republicans what's the fuss. we're talking 5% here. everybody ought to be able to suck it up with a 5% cut, including with the defense department. i think he represents the majority thinking on the republican side right now. never mind that those 5% cuts in each

. the white house has issued a statement saying that the president called senators rubio, john mccain, and lindsey graham today to discuss can a shared commitment to, quote, bipartisan commonsense immigration reform and to commend the senators for bipartisan progress. let's discuss what's going on in our strategy session. joining us, our cnn contributors, paul begala and ana navarro. senator mccain, senator graham on this issue, how key is it? >> you know, it's key that it happened. i'm glad that it finally happened. frankly, though, it's mind blowing. it's amazing that it's taking this long for it to happen and that it's taken a leap. you've got a white house that has shown tremendous dysfunctionality this week. first of all, there was a leak of a bill that was drafted unilaterally without seeking any input from any of the republicans. they just stopped today. this is weeks after the bill was drafted and days after the bill was leaked. so i'm saying to the white house, if you are serious about passing immigration reform, and i hope you are, you need to coordinate better. there are re
